Kenmare is easily reached by road, by rail and bus (Kenmare connection at Killarney), or by air via the international airports at Shannon, Dublin, Cork and Kerry.

From Killarney

Leaving Kerry International (Farranfore) Airport, follow the signs for Killarney. As you approach Killarney, you'll come to a roundabout. Take the first exit for Cork. At the next roundabout, take the second exit, again for Cork. This is the N22. Follow this road for approximately 16km (10 miles). Watch for the Kenmare/Kilgarvan junction. Turn right onto the R569 and follow the signs all the way to Kenmare (no more turn-offs). Passing Kenmare Golf Club, you appoach Kenmare on Shelburne Street - you have to go straight on here as there is a one-way traffic system. At the end of Shelburne Street, Kenmare Post Office is facing you. The road divides; turn right onto Henry Street. Foley's is three-quarters way down on the right.

From Cork

As you leave Cork for the 96km (60 mile) drive to Kenmare follow signs for the N22 to Killarney. You will drive through Macroom and then Ballyvourney. The road suddenly improves to a dual carriageway. After climbing uphill, you will cross the county line into Kerry. On the downhill, look for a left-hand turn onto the R569 (comes abruptly so slow down!) Turn left into the Killgarvan / Kenmare road. Kenmare is 16 miles from the junction. In Kenmare, drive straight to a T junction (Post Office is across the street), turn right into Henry Street. Foleys Guesthouse is three-quarters of the way down on the right-hand side.

From Shannon

From Shannon which is 176km (110 miles) from Kenmare, take the N18 towards Limerick. Upon entering Limerick, immediately after crossing the bridge over the Shannon, go right around the roundabout and follow the signs for N20 and N21 through Adare, Newcastle West and Castleisland. From Castleisland take the N23 past Kerry airport at Farranfore. At the junction of the N22, turn left and continuing on the N22, follow the signs to Killarney and then Cork. Approximately 16km (10 miles) past Killarney, take a right turn onto the R569. The road is signposted to Kilgarvan and Kenmare. (If you start a steep climb up a mountain, you have gone too far). At the first T-junction in Kenmare, turn right into Henry Street. Foleys Guesthouse is three-quarters of the way down on the right-hand side.

From Dublin

The 336km (210 mile) drive from Dublin begins on the N7 through Naas, Kildare and Portlaoise. From here pick up the N8 through Cashel and on to Mitchelstown. At Mitchelstown take the N73 to Mallow and then the N72 through Rathmore. At the junction with the N22, turn left and, continuing on the N22, follow the signs to Cork. Approximately 16km (10 miles) past Killarney, take a right turn onto the R569 singposted to Kilgarvan and Kenmare. The road is signposted to Kilgarvan and Kenmare. (If you start a steep climb up a mountain, you have gone too far). At the first T-junction in Kenmare, turn right into Henry Street.
